I have had some questions about The Occult and Mystery Traditions “Course” mentioned in an earlier post (read it here)
The first question is about the monthly subscription.
As you will notice the monthly posts on this “course” have a “pay wall”. The monthly subscription is £4 and the yearly £35. This will give access to all materials published.
The FREE subscription, as will the invites to the FREE monthly moots, remain unaffected
What will the posts in this course feature?
Great question.
The word “course’ is perhaps a bit misleading. The idea is that each month (at least) a new “chapter: will be published, Each chapter will have information and thoughts about the topic in question; links to other resources and some ideas as to practical exercises you can do to cement the learning.
Who are these posts aimed at?
Anyone and everyone who is interested in Occult, Esoteric and Spiritual Matters.
As you will discover the teachings and philosophies we will discuss are not about religious dogma or gaining power over others. Instead, the focus is on personal and spiritual development.
What Topics Will Be Covered?
The different “posts” will cover, in general terms, the following key topics.
1. History and philosophy of the occult: Explore the origins and development of occult practices and belief systems throughout history, including ancient civilizations and modern occultism.
2. Tarot and divination: The art of tarot card reading and other divination techniques, exploring the symbolism and meanings behind different cards.
3. Astrology: Dive into the study of astrology and how it influences one's personality traits and life events. Learn about horoscopes, birth charts, and the different zodiac signs
4 Alchemy: An exploration of the deeper significance of Alchemical thinking and practices.
5. Rituals and spells: Introduction to various rituals and spells commonly used in occult practices, focusing on their purposes, symbolism, and ethical considerations.
6. Magickal herbs and potions: The healing properties of different herbs and their use in occult practices, including how to create potions and herbal remedies.
7. Mediumship and spirit communication: Explore different methods of connecting with the spirit world, including séances, automatic writing, and pendulum divination.
8 Occult art and literature: Examine famous works of occult art and literature, such as the works of Aleister Crowley, exploring their symbolism and impact on occult practices.
9. Energy healing and metaphysics: The concept of energy healing, including practices like Reiki, chakra balancing, and crystal healing
10 Occult ethics and personal development: Discuss the ethical considerations and responsibilities associated with occult practices, as well as how they can contribute to personal growth and self-awareness.
This broad curriculum will offer the reader the opportunity to look more deeply at their current beliefs and attitudes towards each of these topics. The aim IS NOT to tell you what to believe but to give you ideas to explore the limits and possibilities of their beliefs.
Who are you to be able to “teach” this stuff?
Close to ten years ago I set up The School of Mystery and Magick with my partner. The “school” provided “face-to-face” training in Wicca, Duidry, The Tarot, Astrology and Reiki.
I was given my first deck of Tarot cards when I was 12 and that led to a broad exploration of religion and spiritual belief systems. I know that sounds young, but I was able to go to the library and read (not fully understanding) a number of important Esoteric and Occult texts. As I got older many of the texts became more and more relevant and helped shape my current beliefs.
At University I studied Earth Science gaining a BSc (Hons) and, after several years in the Teaching, profession I gained a PhD in Psychology.
I started to consider myself a Rational Mystic,
In terms of “spiritual groups” and specific “occult training”…
I am an Arch Druid with the Reformed Druids nf Gaia; a member of the British Druid Order and Order of Bards Ovates and Druids, Ancient and Noble Order Knights Templar and The Rosicrucians.
I have been a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn; The Guild of Alchemists and The Builders of the Adytum.
I am a Reiki Master and have worked with a number of “Mystery Teachers”
This DOES NOT mean I know it all, but that I have an active interest in all of these topics and find myself frustrated by the often misquoted and misrepresented ideas of the Masters and Initiates by the so-called. New age Movement
The Teacher in me wants to share ideas and approaches so that individuals can look deeper into their lives and beliefs and so become more aware of their own potential.
I hope you’ll consider joining me on this journey.

Thanks for the explanation.
